Constipation: Causes,  Cures & Remedies

So! You are constipated.

If you just stop to think a minute. (pause)  Not a very pleasant thought but in fact you are full of &8+#.  Excuse the language, but just the thought should be enough to cause you to take action and cure the problem.

Along with the  constipation comes stomach bloating, poor digestion, gas, fatigue, weight gain, excessive mucus, poor concentration, headaches, poor skin, poor memory, depression, body odor, bad breath and often, the feeling of depression.

Do you lack energy

The human body is a complex machine which must be kept in tune to run at peak efficiency.  If your car was plugged up with old oil and sludge, it would run poorly and have a lack of power. The human body, when plugged up, lacks energy and in some cases, shows symptoms of more serious problems such as depression.  Curing your constipation or just cleaning your system from time to time, will increase your energy.

If you have had a lack of energy for a long time, you may begin to think that it is normal and forget what it feels like to truly feel good.  As you age, your ability to process food becomes less efficient.  People who continue to eat as they did when they  were younger, will tend to feel tired only because  their body is unable to process the food they have eaten quick enough.  For some people, just making a improvement in their diet will make them look and feel younger.

Your body changes as it ages and you must learn to adjust to these changes.

So, you have decided to do something about your constipation.  First, it would be helpful to understand some of the causes.  This may give you an idea of what to do, even before we discuss possible cures.

Common Causes of Constipation

* Lack of water

* Lack of fiber and poor diet

* Disturbance of the balance of the gut bacteria

* Lack of exercise or prolonged bed rest

* Tension in the muscles of the colon, rectum an anus

* Eating too much of concentrated protein

* The effect of some drugs; take special note of any drugs or supplements you  have not taken before.

* Putting off going to the lavatory

* Pelvic congestion due to weak abdominal muscles or pre-menstrual tension.

Laxatives and Medications

Stool softeners such as Colace®, Dialose®, and Surfak®., may be recommended to aid in the passage of soft, formed stools. Additionally, bulk laxatives, such as Metamucil, may be used to add fluid and bulk to the stool, thus promoting soft, moist, formed stools. Suppositories or gentle laxatives may be used to establish a pattern of regular, bowel movements. However, enemas or laxatives (such as milk of magnesia) should be reserved for severe cases only–laxatives should not be used over a long period of time because laxative dependence may occur. A better choice to medications or laxatives:  If you are not getting enough fiber in your diet try a natural bulk laxative such asFiberSoliconor Colon Care a harmonious blend of  fibers that assist the body in its internal cleansing process.

Its’ A Miracle

More water “the miracle nutrient” can usually help.  You have likely heard that you should drink 8 to 10, 8oz glasses of water a day.  The amount of water or fluid you require can vary greatly, depending on your lifestyle.  Your urine should  be clear with only a faint color of yellow.  Drink good quality water either bottled or filtered. Your body is over 70% water, so give it the best possible.

REAL HEALTH BEGINS WITH PURE WATER

If you’re not drinking plenty of pure water every day,

you’re not building health. Pure water helps weight

loss too.

Do You Have Enough of the Good Guys

I am speaking about the bacteria which you must have to help your body break down food as it passes through the lower colon.  When you become constipated your food sits to long in your bowel which can cause a build up of bad bacteria.  A sign of to few of the good guys and to many of the bad are: bad breath and abnormally repulsive flatulence.  To increase the number of good bacteria either eat lots of live yogurt or take anAcidophilus Supplement.image or a fiber & bacterial combination such as Colon Care.

Be sure and purchase a non-milk based supplement as a dairy based supplement can cause irritation in some people.

Proper DIET
Dietary measures such as increasing fiber intake from whole-wheat grains, fresh fruits, vegetables and bran may help add bulk to the stool, thus promoting normal bowel movements. Special efforts should be made toward increasing the daily intake of fluids.

EXERCISE

Exercise is important to strengthen the abdominal muscles and to help with the digestion process.  Movement, particularly waist and leg movement help to mix the food and waste products in your intestines which aides digestion.  Massage may also be helpful.

Tips TO Avoid Constipation

* Eat a well-balanced diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruits, bran and vegetables.

* Drink plenty of clean pure water (keep fluids containing sugar and/or caffeine to a minimum)

* Exercise, stretch and move.

*Don’t ignore the urge to go.

* Take the time to go.

* Take time to relax and reduce stress.
